The romantic story of a girl who gets plucked from obscurity to star in the next major feature film franchise based on a book and the ensuing love triangles she gets entangled in on - and off screen.

Meet Paige Townsen, Rainer Devon, and Jordan Wilder..

When Paige Townsen, a young unknown, gets cast in the movie adaptation of a blockbuster book series, her life changes practically overnight. Within a month, Paige has traded the quiet streets of her hometown for a crowded movie set on the shores of Maui, and is spending quality time with her co-star Rainer Devon, one of People’s Sexiest Men Alive. But when troubled star Jordan Wilder lands the role of the other point in the movie’s famous love triangle, Paige’s crazy new life gets even crazier.

In this coming-of-age romance inspired by the kind of celeb hookups that get clever nicknames and a million page views, Paige must figure out who she is – and who she wants – while the whole world watches.

I'm going to start off this review by being honest, before I entered the giveaway on Goodreads I hadn't heard of the book. Yes you can say that's a little naughty because there could have been people out there who entered the giveaway hoping to get a book they've wanted for a long time, and though I do feel bad I'm glad that after searching around it seemed like everyone was saying the same thing, it was a really easy read and they enjoyed it (some people obviously raving more). So when I won I was happy because I had actually developed a want for it, and not only was I intrigued by the summary but it arrived not long before Christmas so I thought it could be a filler over the holidays. However when I started reading it I was glad to find that it wasn't just a filler book for me, it was one that I could actually enjoy.

The thing that I loved the most about this book would have to be Paige making the transaction from a normal teenage girl to August, the character that millions of people of all ages over the word know and love. Why I hear you ask did I fall so deeply in love with this part of the story? Though it was written well and it flowed perfectly, its because I could imagine myself in Paige's place. I'm not exaggerating when I saw that throughout reading the book I was picturing myself auditioning for the role of Elena in The Vampire Diaries (TV show but also a book.. in case you didn't know.. which you will) and getting the chance to be sandwiched between Damon and Stefan (I say Stefan but of course you know all I care about is Damon). I know that you might think that I couldn't have really enjoyed the story if I was fantasising about me and Ian Somerhalder while reading, but you are wrong. I knew what I was reading, what was going on and I was focused on the story, but it became so much more.. relatable because I could put myself in her shoes.

So if this book is not about hunky man that is Damon, who is it about?. Well everyone meet Paige Townsen the young aspiring actress, Rainer Devon the Hollywood heartthrob, and Jordan Wilder, Rainer's frenemy. They are all charged with the task of bringing a well loved series to the big screen. Paige is worried so wont be good enough, Rainer is cocky and busy keeping his eyes on Jordan who doesn't talk or do much. It's the perfect book about fallowing your dream , being young and love for the first time.

When it comes to characters I'm happy to say that Paige was as relatable as they come (if I didn't already make that apparent when I told you about my fantasies haha). She's a painfully shy girl to start with, one of the youngest of a handful of kids, passionate and loyal. Though her character was endearing at the start, as the story continued her development was perfect. She really came out of her shell and even though I may not have agreed with her choices, I couldn't fault her for them because she was still such a naive young girl being overwhelmed. When it comes to the male character I wouldn't say that I liked one more than the other, just for different reason. I loved how protective Rainer was over Paige and how in owe he was of how normal see was, but I didn't like how up his own backside he seemed at the start. With Jordan I loved how selfless he was and maybe it was because he had the bad boy image, but he was who I was rooting for as far as the love interest goes.

I personally can't stand love triangles, the only exception I will make is if the one in the middle is bouncing back and forth between the two and promising them the world. Famous in Love is a book set around love triangles, in the movie and in the characters life. Though my one rule of exception could be applied in this instance, sadly I still found myself disliking that aspect of the story. However that is more to do with the fact that I normally latch straight away onto one male character and can't condole any cheating behaviour.

All in all I really enjoyed this book, I was so glad that it ended up on my radar because I probably would have missed out on a gem. I know a lot of people might liked the story, it wont be for everyone, but if you are a fan of contemporary novels and you are looking for something quick an easy to read with a lot of substance than don't be afraid to pick up Famous in Love

  1. I'm glad this one isn't just a filler book, I've been thinking of reading it for a while but was a little worried it would be just that, a filler book but nothing special. I am happy you enjoyed it though, you've made me feel a bit more confident about picking it up and giving it a shot.
