Weekly Recap | 12-17 Jan. 2015

Welcome to Beautiful Bookish Butterflies Weekly Recap. Stacie and Amanda link up this recap with Caffeinated Book Reviewers Sunday Post and occasionally Tynga Reviews's Stacking the Shelves.

Our Lives This Week:

Stacie:

Trying to update this on a tablet is not easy. I'm so sorry to Amanda and our followers for my lack of real input this week (talking about comments and twitter.) I'm trying but fixing the laptop is proving harder than we thought so I am waiting for my sister to pop her old one over. So I will be back up and running next week. What day I don't know, but I will be back so prepare to be overrun with comments and things ;)

As far as my reading goes, I've read 3 books this week. Talon that scored a 3, sadly it just wasn't for me. All The Bright Places that got a 5, god damn that book is good, and lastly Apple and Rain, I've nearly finished it and I'm pretty sure its going to be a 4.5 or 5, so only one book this week was a let down.

Thank you to everyone who has commented so far, I promise I'll get back to them :)

Amanda:

In comparison to last weeks busy week, this week has been - well, it's been busy, but it's also dragged at the same time. I'm enjoying my placement though, learning a fair bit on the ins and outs of the system, but may have to cut it short as there's a few family issues cropping up that require me to be available, so that sucks a little bit. I did however manage to finally push myself through The Raven Boys and.. well, I confess I'd expected a little more from it, but I was pretty - intrigued by it all. The good news? I have copies of Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue. All is well.

Just some of what's been happening lately on Instagram.

When I haven't been doing that, I've been planning for Christmas 2015, what can I say, I like to be prepared, trying to organise my bookshelves in a way that doesn't emphasise how little space I have left, and putting together some of the bigger projects coming on BBB during 2015. I know, you're nosey and excitable and want to know more, but you'll just have to wait. I also managed to get my hands on Love Bomb by Jenny McLachlan this week which, after thoroughly enjoying Flirty Dancing last summer, seriously made me one happy bunny. It's been nice holding the fort, but it'll be even better when I get my wonderful co-blogger back, I await your safe return Stacie!

  2. Way to go, planning for Xmas 2015. I have a few books I read that I didn't get reviewed this past Christmas and hope to get to the reviews soon and have them ready for next year. Who knows if that will happen. What a bummer, no laptop. Glad you were able to share. Have a great day.

  3. I'm just looking forward to spring. Good for you about Christmas 2015. That's what's called planning ahead! LOL
Sorry about the laptop and hope you can get it fixed soon. I'm somewhat shopping around for a new one as while this one is great, it is older and I don't want to be left in a lurch.

My Sunday Post ~ I'm hoping for good news for Pita and glad your bloodwork came back fine.
Your recipes are moth watering. Now I'm heading to the fridge for some lunch. LOL
I'm already signed up for a couple of your events and will be sure to check out more.
Lovely books. All of them! Happy reading:)

  4. I can't wait for your return Stacie! AND YAY AMANDA! Now that you have the next two books, you can continue your Raven Cycle journey. Blue Lily's my favourite and I kind of need you to be there with me hahaha It sucks that you've got to end your placement early, but at least you got a bit of experience and whatnot from it! Hopefully it helps with the search for a long time job! I'm so excited for these secret projects of yours ;) Have a good week, you two! x
