Personal Pickings is a feature here at Beautiful Bookish Butterflies that allows one of us to approach subject personal to us that has no link or connection to our bookish endeavors. Today, Stacie is killing two birds with one stone by helping you get to know her that extra bit, and satisfying her obsession with quizzes/surveys. Are you ready to get to know Stacie more?
Firstly before I start answering the questions I just want to say that I am in no way shape or form under the illusion that everyone needs to know more about more or even cares about the questions in the survey. However I love taking them and as they have always been about books I jumped t the chance to do this one when I saw it over at Charnell's. Like I already stated, you may not care much for the questions or the answers, but I'll have fun writing it anyway :)
1. How tall are you
Though could like and tell you I'm very tall, what would be the point in that?. I don't consider myself to be short, I think I'm round 5'7 which I think is just about average. If you ask me I'm just the perfect size :)
2. Do you have a hidden talent, if so, what..
haha... no. I wish I could tell you that secretly I can play x amount of instruments or I can recite the alphabet backwards will rubbing my tummy and patting my head but the truth is I am just painfully boring as a person. The only thing I would say I considering anything remotely like a talent would be being able to tell you numerous shows/film an actor or actress has been in if I see them on the TV. Sometime this drives me crazy when I can't remember where I remember someone from, other times I can be drunk and only see the back of Stanislav Ianevski head in Hostel Part 2 and proceed to shout out 'VIKTOR KRUM!'. I have my moments
3. What's your biggest blogging related pet-peeve
I can't sat that I have any in all honesty, if you ask me this again in a few years once I've been doing it consistently I'll probably be able to write you a long long list of things.
4. What's your biggest non-blogging related pet-peeve
Hmm.. I would have to say it's toss up between being lied to, ignored, people putting words into my mouth or people underestimating me and thinking they can treat my how they like because I'm too thick to see what they are doing. Yeah.. I have a few haha. I'm not a negative person by nature, I swear I'm not. But I have had a lot of people in the past and some to this day, try to treat me with less respect or decency than I deserve and its left a little bitterness you could say.
5. What's your favourite song
I can't tell you my favourite song of all time, because I love music and am too greedy to just give you one, however I can give you my favourite song of the moment.
I've always been partial to a ginger (Rupert Grint started the love) but Ed is just in another league to everyone else.
6. What's your favourite Etsy shop
I've known about Etsy for a few years, never bought anything off the website but I think it's a lovely way for people to showcase handmade stuff and make a little bit of money. I however am too much of an Amazon person.
7. What's your favourite way to spend your free time when you're alone
I fell like I should say blogging or reading, because as a book lover and book reviewer that seems obvious right? That’s not the answer though. When I'm alone, and I'm talking in the house alone because the OH has taken Caitlyn out, I like nothing more than to curl up on the sofa and watch whatever I want. Having a a 4 year old and sports fanatic in the house doesn't leave much telly time to myself, even with she's gone to bed I'll be watching some action film or thought provoking TV show with the Mr. Though I love that, sometimes I really just want to watch something without Caitlyn interrupting me or Glenn trying to talk to me about something else.
8. What's your favourite junk food
Crisps
9. Do you have pets
I do, I have a rat names Lola. We did have two, the other was called Charlie, but she died a few months ago. Lola isn't looking too good herself though and I'm hoping that she can last a little longer.
10. What are your favourite fiction and non-fiction books
I have way too many.
11. What are your favourite beauty products
I don't have any. I know I know, not very girly like. But that’s me in a nut shell, really not all that girly. I can't use hand cream or body moisturise because the feel of the cream on my hands makes me want to chop them off, I always stick to the same shampoo and conditioner but not because they are my favourite, because I have sensitive skin and end up with a dry scalp if I change too many times. If I had to pick a brand that I love the smell of and other things, it would be Sanctuary and Soap & Glory.
12. When were you last embarrassed
I have this thing when I don't think before I talk. It sometimes leaves me saying things that I wouldn't normally dream of saying, or I've said it in a wrong way to how I actually mean it or feel it and people take it the wrong way. I end up backtracking a lot and my OH has this habit of joking around and making a big deal out of some of the things I say when we are at his mother house. Though I have been part of the family for 6 years and I know his mum understands what I'm like and what I'm trying to say, I can't help but dig a bigger grave for myself. So yeah... I'm pretty much embarrassed 3 or 4 times a week haha.
13. If you could drink one beverage for the rest of your life, what would it be
14. What's your favourite movie
Hmmm.... I have far too many to just pick one.
15. What were you in high school :jock, geek, cheerleader etc.
No one knew what to call me. I was just the 'different' one I guess. Haha.
16. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be
Bit of a boring answer but if I could move anywhere I go to Dublin. My my is Irish, and like most Irish people comes from a big family (she is one of 11). We used to go over all the time when I was younger but I haven't been over to see my family since I was around 12/13. I have a few aunts and uncles who have decided to move over here like my mum did but I still don't get to see anyone over there and I'd love the chance to spend a lot of time with them.
17. PC or Mac
I know everyone is obsessed with iPhones and iPads and what not but I'm really not a big fan of Apple products. I would pick a PC or an Android operated system any day of the week.
18. Last romantic gesture from a crush/date/boyfriend
I'm practically married so all the romance goes when you tie the not right? just joking of course. However my OH is about a manly as they comes so I don't get overly romantic gestures from him all the time (he's only bought me flowers twice in 6 years) but it doesn't mean he doesn't feel the same about me as someone who does that sort of thing does, he's just the way he is and I understand that. Every now and again though he will cook me some of my favourite foods or sit down with me and watch a film because I want to (last year I got him to watch Pretty Women, The Notebook and Chicago.. this year I'm aiming for Moulin Rouge) and when he does things like that I consider them romantic. Others might not, but that's his way :)
19. Favourite Celeb
I am pretty much obsessed with these two fine specimens right there.
20. Which bloggers do you secretly want to be friends with
All of course ;)
So we're pretty much the same height XD And I'm actually surprised you chose water for the beverage question! Most people would choose soft drink I'd imagine.
ReplyDeletehaha I know, in all honesty I would have picked another because obviously having a tasty one would be nice but it's healthy and I don't dislike water :P
DeleteDYLAN AND IAN. HOLD ME.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool feature because it's like a survey but then the questions are so fun to read. The h20 gif made me laugh because I don't know too many people who would answer water [it's sad, isn't it?]
I'm so glad to read this, I learned a lout about you :)
LOL SOMEONE WHO FEELS IT!!. I'm like.. obsessed and died when I saw the picture of my two biggest celebrity crushes haha.
DeleteThank you, and I know but I don't dislike water so it was an easy choice :D
Okay.... GET READY!
ReplyDelete1. HAHA! I'm 5ft, so 5ft 7 seems tall to me... like giant tall, or someone-who-can-come-get-things-down-from-high-shelves-for-me type tall.
2. THAT'S SO ME! I totally do that too. My boyfriend will sit there for ages trying to figure out where he knows someone from and I'm laughing at him as I knew instantly. Maybe that should be a recognised skill, something I can add to my CV!
3. I have many... oops.
4. Yes to these, to all of these.
5.That's my favourite song right now. I'd love to dance to that at my wedding, it's beautiful.
6. Etsy is stealing all my money... all for Lillytales and her awesome bookmarks. I bought 14 in two weeks. ARGH!!!!
7.If I'm not reading or blogging then I am enjoying getting to watch whatever I want when James is out. IT'S HEAVEN!!!
8. Now I am craving crisps.
9. I contemplated getting a rat but they required a lot more care than I could probably give them at the time, so I decided against it. I hope your rat lasts a lot longer <3
10. WHO COULD CHOOSE!
11. YAY! I'm not very girly either.
12. I get embarrassed so easily too, it's not fun.
13. Water was my pick too, you can't go wrong with that one.
14. WHY DO THEY KEEP TRYING TO MAKE US PICK ONE FAVOURITE THING!!!!!!
15. ME TO! *HIGH FIVE* Me and my Criminal Damage trousers and a wardrobe that mostly consisted of clothes bought from Camden Market.
16. My boyfriends parents moved there about 7 years ago now, so we go over and visit a lot. The people are so lovely there! <3
17. I HATE APPLE PRODUCTS. IPHONES ARE RUBBISH. You couldn't pay me to buy and iPad or an iPhone.
18.I totally agree. James has never been a flower person, although he has bought me a few bunches before. But I'm not a flower girl either, so it works for us. It's more about the little romantic gestures, like coming to see the chick flick I want to see even though he'd rather stick pins in his eyes. Or buying me books, even when he thinks I have far too many already. That's my idea of romance ;)
19. Dyaln O'Brien was my pick... I love him, mostly because he plays such funny characters.
20. Of course ;)
I love that you took the time to list your reactions to ever one of my answer, I however am going to point out a few that stood out.
DeleteLOL Your answer to number 2 really put a big smile on my face. IT SHOULD BE A SKILL DAMN IT. Even if I do go a little bat shite crazy if I can't find out what I want to know hha.
I really hope Lola survives longer too, she's pretty much on borrowed time now anyway :(
WOOP for Camden. I used to spend so much time there in my teenage years, I would love to bring my little girl up there in the next few years but she is pretty girly so I don't think she'll end up dressing like me or her old man.
I think in all honesty, there isn’t many overly romantic men out there any more. So while we may only have them watching films they don't want to, it's more than most :P
Dyaln is on my list... because I cant look at him without my eyes bulging out of my head LOL
