Welcome to No Books Allowed. This is a monthly feature hosted by me, used to discuss things things in life which aren't connected to books. This post can be used to talk about days out, music, TV, video games, films etc for all those book bloggers out there who do occasionally do stuff other than read and go to book events!
So this is the first time I'll have the pleasure in taking part in No Books Allowed by Raimy, over at Readaraptor, but I've been a fan of it for a while now. I used to take part in a meme called Know Me Better hosted by I'm A Reader, Not A Writer and thought that it was a lovely way for readers of any blog to get to know the person as more than the blogger. Sadly they haven't posted a new one in nearly a year so I wanted something new, and seen as this year is going to be a bit hectic for me I guess this is a good time to start :) (anyway, I suggest you either have a look at this meme or Raimy's blog, without actually knowing it she was on of the reason's I started blogging.)
Wedding/hen
So my older sister (as seen on the left) is getting married in August (3 day's before my 25th birthday) and this month has been all hands on deck planing her hen do (with my other sister) and helping her with things to do with the wedding. I'm really happy for her, more than she know's. She hasn't exactly had the best of luck when it comes to guys, and seems to pick the wrong ones, but with Dan (the groom to be) its different. He is without a doubt one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and he adores my niece and nephew which is obviously one of the most important things to me/my sister/my family, but its not only that, he just looks after my sister in ways the others haven't, he gets on with my family like a house on fire and he's just genuine. So even though me and my sister have had our up's and downs and sometimes never really got on, I am thrilled for her. She's having her hen do in Dublin, Ireland in a few months because my mother is Irish and we have a ton of family over there, so I guess its her way of celebrating with my family members that aren't able to have come, its also nice for me as I haven't been since I was around 12, we used to go two maybe tree times a year so I considered myself somewhat close to my family over there, but when I started high school it got harder to get over there because school was important so yeah, I'm super duper excited about it. (the wedding/hen do will also be the reason my blog has been somewhat lacking lately, just been busy)
Housewife/mother
Wouldn't say I've really done a lot this month, my little girl when back to nursery on the 7th of January so I've been taking her to school, painting and making things when she got home and going to see family on the weekend. She loves school this little one, which is good because she starts 9-3 in September, cant believe she's going to be 4 in march, its so scary. And fyi, she loves books just as much as her mum, has to hug and kiss her books goodnight haha.
Other than that this month has been hard for me, at christmas I had a week of my partner being off work and him going back to it is just making me feel lonely. He's a doorman so obviously works night which is hard as we don't get to spend an awful amount of time together during the day and at night time when it should be our time together he's at work. Don't get me wrong, he love his job and he's really good at it, its just made 10x harder knowing I'm at home feeling lonely and missing him while every women in sight is throwing herself at him. Not easy at all!
Movie's/TV
So as far as TV and movies go this month I've seen a lo. Just sticking to the regulars, The Vampire Diaries (Damon<3), American Horror Story, The Newsroom, Lost Girl, Beauty and The Beast, Lost Girl, Pretty Little Liars (that show is becoming so boring its not even funny) and Teen Wolf. And the new in the form of Awake (so annoyed to find out there wasn't a second season) The Originals, Sleepy Hallow (still need to finish that) and some others. I've been watching 90210 for a few months and just today finished the last season. Got to be honest, the first few season's were ok but there it just lacked anything, couldn't compare to the likes of Gossip Girl/OC/One Tree Hill. As far as films go there is only really one worth mentioning and that would be Frozen <3, that movie is just too good and my little girl is obsessed with it so its good that I like it haha.
I'm not really sure what else to right tbh, and even though it didn't give much insight to anything I'm still really glad I did it :), will not be the last either.
Cool idea for a blog meme! I take a break from reading by watching my alltime fave TV series like The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon A Time, Game of Thrones, and many more! I'm also into music!

I thought the same thing, so glad I managed to get around to doing it this month.
DeleteTVD <3. Favorite show right now, been obsessed with it since it started (I'm a Delena girl through and through. I also think that Stefan and Caroline should get together haha.)
I'm a massive fan of both One Upon A Time & Game of Thrones too, just waiting for it to start back up :)
Thanks for taking the time to comment :)
