Bookish Musings is a feature here at Beautiful Bookish Butterflies that allows one of us to share our thoughts and opinions, talk and discuss things happening in the book and blogging community or share a personal book related issue we have. Today, Amanda is talking about discussion post ideas and giving out some handy little tips for people struggling to come up with any. Need some discussion ideas? Help yourself!
I'm somebody who really enjoys a chat. I can sit next to a friend and talk away for hours about absolutely nothing and love every moment of it, so when it came to Book Badger, discussion posts were something that I just wanted to do; the topics come naturally to me, type talking and finding the right words isn't usually a problem I have, in fact, I usually get so overwhelmed with so many different topics and things to discuss that I only really ever get around to posting a quarter of the ideas I have on the blog, so the idea that people struggle to with discussion posts blows my mind completely. We're bloggers, talking is what we do best whether that be through ranting or raving or squealing and flailing, and nothing makes me happier than a good discussion post, so today I wanted to have a quick cuppa and a natter and put out some topics that have come to me that I can't develop as well as I'd like to or would love to see and hear things about from other bloggers out there stuck for a place to start.

This is lovely of you for sharing so many ideas, there is so much to discuss when it comes for books! Will be sharing this too, thanks Amanda!
ReplyDeleteJeann @ Happy Indulgence
That's how I feel, there's a world of things to talk about and I love the idea of giving a helping hand. Thank you Jeann! :)
DeleteNice post and lots of good ideas. I actually have a few of these ideas, sort of, drafted on the blog that I need to edit - I've just kind of rambled - waiting to go live when I can decide which order to put them in. Currently working on showing off how I organise and keep my books, seeing as I just got two new bookshelves. But it's hard because I have so many. And I was also working on a hardback/paperback one but I am not sure I have enough on that one little topic to make a whole post, was going to share my bookish OCD in general for that one. Great ideas, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteDiscussions don't have to be long, they can quick, short and personal so don't worry about the length hunny. I'm excited to see these posts you've done so I hope you decide to post them soon, I love it when you do more personal and opinion driven posts :)
DeleteLove this! I've tons of ideas but no where near enough time to write them all, thinking of writing a ton and scheduling them, will bookmark this for inspiration! :)
ReplyDeleteAww I'm glad I could be of help :)
DeleteI am definitely bookmarking/copy-pasting this list asap! Summer is coming up and I am planning on less OOTD posts since I don't really "dress up" during the holidays. These ideas are great starters for possible memes over in my neck of the woods so thanks for sharing. And thanks for the tip about getting ARCs. As a teacher, this is a valuable resources both for me and my students!

DeleteOh my goodness! Thank you SOOOO much for sharing this Amanda! I don't do discussion posts on my blog because I feel like I'm never able to think of any creative topics, so thank you so much for taking the time to share this! I can't imagine how helpful it will be to the blogging community! <3
ReplyDelete~ Zoe @ The Infinite To-Read Shelf
You're welcome Zoe! I think creativity comes from having one small thing to say and developing it, as long as what you say is honesty form you then it'll be great. I'm glad I've been able to get some ideas out there for people, so thank you!
