Welcome to Beautiful Bookish Butterflies Weekly Recap. Once a week, Stacie and Amanda take the time to talk about the weeks goings on, both on the blog and in our lives elsewhere, any new books we may have received and want to mention and what's interested is within the blogging community. Stacie and Amanda link up this recap with Caffeinated Book Reviewers Sunday Post and occasionally Tynga Reviews' Stacking the Shelves.

Our Lives This Week:

Stacie:

So this week I have only read 1 book, and normally, I would be really bummed out about that but the fact that it's A Court of Thorns and Roses, somehow, I don't seemed to mind all that much. Yes ladies and gentleman, I did get it for review thanks to the lovely people at Netgalley. I saw it on Tuesday, had a mini heart attack and of course clicked request right away, and was lucky enough to have an email back on Wednesday saying I was accepted. Well everyone, I nearly wet my pants.. like really I was so excited. Since then I haven't had the motivation to read anything because, although I loved the book, (trust me when I tell you it was amazeballs) I have to wait until next year for the next one. I'M DYING! :(

Other than the gorgeous book, I received a few other books for review as you can see above, I got a hardback copy of The Catalyst (the author was just 13 when she wrote her first draft and is still in school now) and I bought The Manifesto Of How To Be Interesting and Biggest Flirts (not seen) for my Kindle app because I haven't bought a book since Christmas. I also managed to pinch a few review copies off Amanda because she came up with a brilliant idea of sharing our accounts. So yeah, I've got  lot of books this week and other than than it's been relatively boring apart from Caitlyn's friends birthday party today :)

Amanda:

In comparison to last weeks explosion of all the things, this week brought me back into a calmer mode, a mode filled with new books, looking nervously out of the window at the postman hoping my expected books would turn up and eating rabbit food, again. What can I say, I've been slacking on my healthy eating lately, but I have rekindled my love for my chuck-everything-in-it salads, so there's a plus. It's been quiet on the western front of my personal life really, but I'd rather that than an influx of stress, so there's that.

Just some of what's been happening on Instagram.

In book related news, things are a little more interesting. My beautiful co-blogger (thank you Stacie!) sent me her review copies of Sin Eater's Daughter and My Heart and Other Black Holes which was just - happiness abound, I'm pretty excited to read them. I then got my copy of Fairest from Steph, which is just gorgeous and was a great read. I'm also in the middle of receiving some exciting books from Allie at Little Birdie Books, but you'll have to wait and keep an eye on Instagram to know about those. Reading wise, I tested myself this week as to whether I could read a book a day (6 days, not 7, I have day/night off) - I could and I did, and low and behold, there were some pretty good reads too, including Spooks Secret, Half Bad and Fairest. I don't want to get too confident too soon, but I have a good feeling about February, a good good feeling.

  2. Ahhh nearly a book a day?! AMANDA, YOU ARE AMAZING. I like to aim for that, but in reality...I don't get there at all. -_- Unless I sneak in a few short books. Like this week I read Strong Deaf and a comic, both at like 100-pages, which I sort of feel is cheating but heh. Only to my own goals! I still wanted to read both of those books. xD afjdklafsd for ACOTAR, Stacie! I'm reading that soon!!

    2. I didn't think a book a day was an amazing feat, especially when I see how much you read a month, like, woah! But I was proud and quite enjoyed it in the end. Short books and novellas are fine, still reading aren't you? Be happy! :)

  5. I'm into rabbit food right now too. Lots of fresh veggies to snack while I read. LOL And I've read a lot this week. Around 7 books but two were novellas. Now to get those reviews written while things are fresh in my mind.

    2. Oh it's okay Alma, I'd take reading a little slower as a better idea, I've slowed up loads this week, just been so out of it after last week.. 9 books is still brilliant though, honestly, you should be proud! :)
